🤩 Field Trip🤩

January 20, 2023, gcte students went on a field trip. This field trip is part of the B.Ed curriculum and is part of the first semester syllabus's community-based practical component. We were taken to kuthiramalika, an art gallery, and a museum dedicated to palm leaf manuscripts on a field trip. They are all present in thiruvananthapuram.
Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma constructed Kuthira Maaliga, commonly referred to as Puthan Maaliga, in the 1840s. Numerous pictures, statues, paintings, idols, hanging lights, mirrors, pots, thrones, swords, drums, storage jars, oil lamps, and other items are shown in this palace. The Noon Cannon was the most intriguing thing I saw there. At 12:33 PM, the cannon automatically fires. At noon, the sun would shine on the burning glass, igniting a cannon fuse. As a result, the cannon is fired, signalling noon.
There are over 1.5 billion palm leaf records in the collection of palm leaf manuscripts. The museum contained eight galleries. They were Land and Peace, Culture and Art, Health and Education, War and Peace, Administration and Economy, Writing History, and Mathilakam Records. Paradichlorobenzene and silica gel have been used to preserve the palm leaf. Both silica gel and paradichlorobenzene serve as humidity absorbers and insect repellents.
overall experience was so much of soothing for us. we expect for the programs like this in future also.
